Hopewell Theatre opens “Silent Sky” by Lauren Gunderson on April 3 for a two-weekend run. “Silent Sky” is the story of 19th-century astronomer Henrietta Leavitt and explores a woman’s place in society during a time of immense scientific and heart-bound discoveries. With music and light bursting forth onstage, Henrietta and her female peers change the way we understand both the Heavens and Earth. Featuring a cast of actors well known to local stages, the story’s humor and depth shine like the stars they study. “The cast and creative team have come together to create a magical night of theatre,” notes Traci Manning as she makes her directorial debut. The show runs April 3, 4, 10, and 11 at 7:30 pm and April 12 at 2:00 pm. Tickets are available online at www.hopewelltheatre.org and at the door. Hopewell Theatre, located at 702 Mahoning Avenue in Youngstown, has been a part of the local arts community for over 30 years, dedicated to presenting high-quality productions that inspire, entertain, and provoke thoughtful dialogue.
